Safer Internet Day 2018
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology

for children and young people, and the campaign sees over 1,600 organisations unite to raise awareness of online safety issues and run events and activities right across the UK.
 

In KS1, we focused on the use of apps and created a class set of rules of how to stay safe when playing online games. In KS2, we discussed social media and the issues that can effect children's safety. We used drama to explore different scenarios and how we can approach these in the correct way.

As a school, we understand how our lives have been changed by the use of the internet and online gaming. We understand that many children use the internet and games consoles/gaming devices in their everyday life.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/onlinesafety Susanna Reid introduces a short film made by CBBC outlining the risks involved in Online Gaming, on both PC's and game consoles. The film also identifies how to avoid some of the dangers and pitfalls involved in online gaming.
