World Book Day - Thursday 5th March 2020

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March 2020. Please see details below:

12th February 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March 2020

During the week beginning Monday 2nd March, we will be holding a book week to celebrate our love of reading across the school.  This week will involve a number of activities centred on enjoyment of books and of reading.

Thursday 5th March 2020 – World Book Day

World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading.  On Thursday 5th March, the children are invited to dress up as their favourite ‘word’ as we become a ‘whole school dictionary’.

  1. Children are asked to wear a plain, light- coloured t-shirt. Please note, school trousers and shoes are still to be worn
  2. Using a marker pen, please write their chosen word on the front of the t-shirt, and the definition on the back. This will enable each child to create their own ‘word t-shirt’.
  3. Please could we ask that children choose a word from their favourite story, or a word that links to their curriculum topics in school.
  4. For inspiration, please see the curriculum section on the school website at Click on Parent Overviews > Spring > and select your child’s year group to view their current topic.

There will be a special assembly on the day where children will have the opportunity to take part in various workshops.  We will also add photographs to the school website and to Twitter.  It is guaranteed to be a fun day.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Gallier
